About Us
Established 1939
At Haberdash & Heirlooms, we believe the finest objects are those that have already endured.
Since 1939, our philosophy has remained unchanged: craftsmanship matters, provenance matters, and quality outlives fashion. What began as a small estate-based collection built on discerning taste has evolved into a carefully curated destination for pre-1950 furnishings, sterling silver, crystal, rare books, vintage garments, and distinguished curiosities.
We do not chase trends.
We preserve legacy.
Our Standard
Every piece we offer must meet three criteria:
Authenticity.
We specialize in pre-1950 estate goods. Materials, construction, and era are thoughtfully evaluated to ensure historical integrity.
Craftsmanship.
We seek evidence of the maker’s hand joinery that holds, silver with weight, glass with clarity, garments stitched with care. These are objects built in a time when longevity was expected.
Character.
An heirloom should not feel new. It should feel storied. Patina is not flaw it is proof of life.
Our Approach
We source from private estates, auctions, and long-held collections, selecting only pieces worthy of continuation. Many of the objects we offer have quietly witnessed generations formal dinners, handwritten letters, Sunday best attire, and carefully kept libraries.
Each item is documented honestly, with attention to condition and detail. When provenance is known, it is preserved. When a maker’s mark is present, it is researched. We believe stewardship requires transparency.
Why Heirlooms Matter
Modern production prioritizes speed. Earlier generations prioritized endurance.
Pre-war craftsmanship carries a certain discipline solid woods, sterling weight, hand-finished glass, and tailoring that respected the wearer. These objects were not disposable; they were meant to remain.
At Haberdash & Heirlooms, we continue that tradition by placing these pieces into homes that value permanence.
A Quiet Promise
We are not merely sellers of vintage goods.
We are custodians of objects that have already proven their worth.
Whether it is a sterling flatware service, an early 20th-century writing desk, a rare antiquarian volume, or a carefully preserved garment, each piece we curate carries history forward — not as nostalgia, but as living design.
